A focal point of this New Urban Plan is the design of a new Central Bank of The Bahamas facility. The new Central Bank building will have a mixed use program to cater to the Bank personnel. Additionally, the thousands of visitors and pass through persons for functions at the Performance arts Center, Museum, Art Gallery, observation deck or from the transport hub passing through to another area. Having passengers flow through this space adds to the experience but creates the need for food, services, and retail options.
A second facet to our design solution is the introduction of a new city square. We see this as a very realistic way of relieving the pressure on downtown whilst giving the Government a clear way to repair its spatial deficiencies. This opens up many possibilities for adaptive reuse and a reclamation of the image of Nassau.
